JANET
Handmade Upcycled Vintage
Sustainable clothing made using preloved fabrics. We strive to bring beautiful, sustainable handmade and vintage clothing to you.
The talented woman who taught me the skills to sew. I continue to strive to be like her in her kindness, grace and generosity to others.
Three generations of women in my family now know how to sew, thanks to my grandmother. She passed this slowly forgotten skill down to my mother and her granddaughters. Sharing this love of creativity with my sisters, mother and grandmother makes me feel honored to carry on the tradition and eager to share that love and appreciation with others.
Creativity is an outlet, a way to express yourself, a way to feed your soul. I hope my love expresses itself into the garments I create so lovingly with my hands, hands my grandmother pours appreciation, dedication and passion into.

handmade with love
Dedicated to sustainability, every piece is designed and created sustainably in the USA using preloved fabrics by Janet founder and owner, Hannah. I only create garments in small batches or that are made to order. This helps eliminate waste by only creating items that need to be created rather than endless amounts of clothing that doesn’t sell. This creates a more sustainable approach as well as unique, one of a kind pieces that you can cherish for a lifetime and pass down through generations.
I believe in slow fashion, sustainability and making you look and feel your best.
Why?
I want to share my love. Creating garments that make me feel pretty makes me so excited and happy. I want to share that feeling with others. I want to show you that clothing is fun. It makes us feel sexy, beautiful and confident. I want to share that giddy feeling you get when you find your new go-to outfit.
upcycled
Sorting through racks and racks of unwanted clothing at the thrift store, one can’t help but wonder, is it ever possible to tackle the problem of too many clothes ending up in the landfill? The honest answer is: I hope so, but I don’t know. I’m encouraged by the growing popularity of thrifting and secondhand shopping, but still see so much clothing getting tossed out. Upcycling has allowed to me to do my small part of trying to eliminate this problem. I love taking garments that may be past their prime, out of season, or flawed in some way and turning them into a new garment, giving it an entirely new life.
Why?
No one is perfect, and everyone is on their own sustainable fashion journey. I hope to encourage others to look into their closet and see if there is another way to wear the item before tossing it out, or a small alteration that can be made to transform the item into a completely unique garment.
“We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.” - Anne-Marie Bonneau
I’m not saying never buy a new piece of clothing again. But rather, choose pieces you know will become staples in your wardrobe. Thrift when you can, but be mindful and deliberate always. I’m not here to judge or call out others, but hope to provoke thoughts and inspire you to make small changes where you can in your life.
